An eclectic, funky hair salon is open in the southern suburb of Mclaren Vale on the Fleurieu Peninsula
Located on Main St, Emma Bayly, hairdresser and former owner of Liquid Hair (Victoria Sq Adelaide) is thrilled have opened the doors of Half Cut Mclaren Vale in 2013. Emma moved to Port Willunga 11 years ago and has been keen to offer her services, as one of Adelaide’s best hairdressers, down in the southern suburbs since becoming part of this community.
The salon is located in the space next door to Blessed Cheese on Main St, McLaren Vale, which was once occupied by Fall From Grace. Emma has mixed a variety of design pieces from her previous salons to create a unique space where she has bought a city style to the Southern Vales.
Emma Bayly’s experience in the hairdressing industry spans over 3 decades. Learning her craft in Adelaide, she used her skills globally working in salons both in London and New York. Her style is to bring the best out in her client’s hair. She believes a good hair cut is the foundation for the best hairstyles and prefers to colour hair to create minimal maintenance to keep the hair in optimum condition.
Think directional fuss-free cuts, glossy colours by Goldwell and the best blow dries around. Going out or have a special occasion? We will work with you to make your dream formal style come to life. The salon offers a fuss-free wedding hair service, and Eco Kid organic head lice treatments.
Half Cut Mclaren Vale also provides barber-style or directional haircuts for men, and a Goldwell Reshade service to blend away the greys using and recommending only the best hair care and styling products such as Kevin Murphy, Goldwell, Apotecari Bioactive Haircare and ghd. At Half Cut Mclaren Vale, haircuts are relaxed modern and uncomplicated. Whilst haircutting shapes vary, the look is achieved with consistency in approach, Hairstyles are cut wet to dry with an emphasis on dry hair cutting in the finish. At Half Cut Mclaren Vale a colour service is something that can’t be done at home, don’t be a victim to home hair colour disasters. Whether it is adding more depth and shine or it offers contrast and dimension one of our specialists can create a look that is right for you using a technique specific to you!

Blowdry your hair with lots of body or straight and smooth, it is up to you. Are looking for something other than a blowdry? We can iron style your hair. Prepare your hair by washing and drying at home and we can straighten or curl. A streamline service just for you. Going somewhere special? Lets us work with you to create a special up style.

The Stylists
Natasha Marshall - Senior Stylist
<p>Tashi is a Kevin Murphy session stylist an expert in the Kevin.Murphy range of hair care products. In 2017 Tashi won the colour trophy for best pastel hair colour at the SA Hair and Beauty competition. She specializes in Balayage and corrective colour transformations. She completed her apprentice at Liquid Hair and now re-joins Emma as a senior stylist at Half Cut Mclaren Vale. </p> <p>Tashi believes that all hair styles should be easy to do at home. She also wants everyone who sits in her chair to feel absolutely comfortable and super excited about having there hair done and know that she will listen to there needs. She will transform and create custom colours for her clients whether it be natural or creative techniques.</p>
Emma Bayly - Principal Stylist
<p>Emma Bayly experience spans over 3 decades and numerous countries around the world. After completing her apprenticeship in 1989 she headed to London and worked at Scissors on the Kings Rd. After returning to Adelaide for a short stint she followed her passion for living overseas and traveled to New York where she spent the next two years working at Girl Loves Boy in Soho. She has worked on photoshoots globally and on Fashion week in Sydney and New York. Emma has been a guest artist for Goldwell and American Crew presenting to many hairdressers at Hair Expo Australia and many workshops Nationally.<br /> Emma created Liquid Hair in 1998 sold it in 2017 after evolving it over 19yrs to one of Adelaide’s best salons.<br /> She now works 3 days per week at Half Cut Mclaren Vale and Tuesdays at Mayne On Ward.<br /> She enjoys mentoring her team and meeting with her clients in both salons.<br /> She currently is studying Trichology, the study of hair, scalp and disorders associated with them. She plans on consulting with clients on conditions such as hair loss, psoriasis and hair breakage.<br /> She believes that health hair, shiny hair and natural hair is the path to hair goals. </p>
Courtney Ward-Assistant
<p>Courtney joined the Half Cut Mclaren Vale team in 2019. She is excited about pursuing a career in hairdressing. Growing up in the southern suburbs of Adelaide, Courtney feels at home in Mclaren Vale. She is an animal lover and enjoys taking her dog Fraser for walks along the beach.<br /> Courtneys passion for hair started at an early age when she always practiced on her mother, aunt and anyone else that would let her experiment. </p>CREATIVE. ARTISTIC. PASSIONATE.

Half Cut Mclaren Vale works on a multi leveled pricing structure, meaning that the service price varies with every stylist based on experience not on the time taken to do your hair. Why not book in for a complimentary consultation where we can discuss different ideas, this is where we will be able to give you a better idea of the cost and level of expertise needed. We treat everyone’s hair individually.

Whilst haircutting shapes vary, the look is achieved with consistency in approach, Hairstyles are cut wet to dry with an emphasis on dry hair cutting in the finish. We have two stylists available for haircuts. Tash is our senior stylist and charges $75 for a haircut and Emma is our director and charges $99 for a haircut.
